Tk’emlúps 2022: BC Wildlife Park

We spent a few hours this month wandering around “BC Wildlife Park”, which is a rehabilitation centre for orphaned and injured wildlife (that tries very hard never to call itself a “zoo” lol). In this place you can find several of the largest organisms on the whole planet, including these rescued grizzlefriends Dawson and Knute:

This park isn’t here to host a bunch of quote-unquote ‘exotic animals’; the overwhelming majority of residents are indigenous to BC (or a connected place such as Yukon). We encountered the following variety of extremely fun mammals:

As well as a variety of amazing living dinosaurs:

And just in case you ever wanted to know what death looks like as it walks around on four legs, they’ve got that too (in this case death’s name is either “Zoe” or “Kalamalka”, I can’t tell them apart):
